Auditory Processing

How our brain takes in things that we hear and processes that information for language. Symptoms:

  • Hypersensitive – cover ears, distracted in noisy environments, scared of loud noises (vacuums, blenders, etc.)
  • Hyposensitive – takes longer to respond when name is called than other children their age, doesn’t seem to notice loud noises, may love listening to loud music, make loud sounds with toys or their own mouth.
